i got both of your missives and both poems,
as I sat with my lap-top on my lap,
i was grateful to read and feel such tomes.

through my daily travels and midnight roams,
with the aid of an electronic zap,
i got both of your missives and both poems.

though we’re coast to coast in our cyber homes,
inundated with the usual crap,
i was grateful to read and feel such tomes.

deleting stanzas of my lonely moans,
just before i would take my nightly nap,
i got both of your missives and both poems.

through meditations of a thousand ohms,
a billion recordings of mindless rap,
i got both of your missives and both poems.

and you, my daughter, in midnight blue foams,
send me light and love with a finger tap.
i got both of your missives and both poems.
i was grateful to read and feel such tomes.
